How My IT Background Helped Me Delve Deeper into Yoga Philosophy

I remember the days when we used to buy computer parts, assemble them ourselves, and install the operating system and programs from scratch. It was fascinating to see a device come to life electronically and then to witness how it was ready to read information and be programmed step by step.

Later, when I studied at university about the different layers of a computer—such as the hardware layer, OS layer, application layer, and security layer—it gave me deeper insights into us as human beings and our components.
Even though each layer has its own nature and unique functions, they communicate with each other and work together as a whole to fulfill the user's needs.

I had the opportunity to work in application support, where I enjoyed troubleshooting problems, diagnosing issues, finding fixes, and identifying root causes. This required a holistic understanding of the entire system, as issues could arise from any layer. As a team leader, I also trained new joiners, developing my ability to explain complex concepts in relatable terms for easy understanding and recall.

When I began meditating, my quest was to discover my true nature and purpose. As I delved deeper, I encountered overwhelming complexities and issues. I joined various meditation programs, explored different traditions, and completed yoga teacher training. After years of research and self-experimentation, I synthesized my findings into a clear, understandable framework that I now share with others.

My initial IT knowledge greatly helped me classify us into five layers: physical, mental, energy/emotional, awareness, and bliss layers. An ancient Upanishad provided a framework, but there was limited information available, so I had to conduct my own research, and I am still developing it. I call this a new approach to holistic wellness. I have been able to bring this knowledge to corporate settings and speak in a way that everyone can relate to, showing how understanding where challenges arise can provide tools to address and fix them.
